Bewicks Rothbury

I rang Berwick's a week prior to our meal enquiring for Beef Wellington as I had been suggested Bewick's from a number of people in a Northumberland Facebook group. It wasn't on the menu however the Cafe said they'd be more than happy to make it for us. You absolutely went above and beyond our expectations and made our experience incredible and memorable. Given the best seat in the house with views of Rothbury around, you have wonderful, friendly and extremely attentive staff working the floor and your chef's skills are immaculate. The meal can only be described as *chef's kiss* magnificent. Cannot wait to return to try more of the delicious food and cocktails you have to offer. Really happy to have discovered the place. Thank you all once again for making our experience amazing, you've given us high expectations for Beef Wellington for the future.

Fascinating and unusual space. Great food with superb fresh ingredients including delicious sourdough. The chef clearly takes great pride in their food. And best of all there’s a turntable on the counter with vinyl being played!

We Spent the coziest afternoon at Bewicks in Rothbury, Northumberland,where time slows down, and the world feels just right. Delicious food, the warm crackle of a vintage vinyl player, and an atmosphere that wraps you up like your favorite blanket. Pure relaxation, pure magic.

We arrived this evening for dinner. Absolutely amazing steaks - can’t remember having a better one, beyond delicious. All the accompanying sides were amazing too. Great value in a beautiful setting. Jonny was the perfect host. Thank you.

This place is a bit of a pearl which we disvo6on a driech Sunday morning when we were passing through on our way home from a few days away. We sat in with our dog. LP playing Ella Fitzgerald was an unexpected pleasure. Scones and coffee ordered. Wonderful friendly staff. We weren't getting on with the coffee so we expressed our concern and immediately received two replacements. Still not convinced despite the owner's son showing us the packaging and talking us through it. However what really impressed us was the specials board and the summer menu. There were some really delicious sounding and locally sourced seafood dishes which were tempting and a good selection of other meals on the menu. We have set our minds on a return visit to enjoy an evening here at a place that isn't run-of-the-mill.

Rothbury hasn t really got a lot of choice as far as cafes are concerned so we were very lucky to get a table here for a small snack. We decided on bacon sandwiches and a scone with jam and cream along with teas. All very delicious and just what we were looking for. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend

Why five stars? The food alone is spectacular. Presentation, taste and quality are all on point and the portion sizes are generous. Highly recommend the pork belly bites - little flavour bombs of salty, fatty goodness in a sesame and soy dressing. All our food was delicious and I’m pleased to have friends in the area which means I’m more than likely coming back. To top it off, service was excellent and had a nice chat as we were all leaving and discovered there is a sister venue in Amble. Another one to add to the list for future visits!

On a beautiful Sunday with the sun shining, we enjoyed our lunch. Two of us had starters of clam chowder and pheasant strips. For mains, a Sunday roast of beef, pate, chicken Caesar salad and Greek salad. All delicious, washed down with a beautiful rose wine.
